NirogiAI connects patients and their overseas families to the full spectrum of Sri Lankan healthcare — diagnostic labs, specialist physicians, and leading hospitals — through an AI-orchestrated platform built for quality, affordability, and trust.
The Problem We Solve
Skilled physicians and modern facilities exist — but patients and their overseas families face a fragmented system with no digital interface, no care continuity, and no pricing transparency.
Over 100,000 Sri Lankans in the US — and hundreds of thousands more in Australia and the UK — have no reliable digital mechanism to manage or coordinate healthcare for their loved ones back home. No unified interface. No structured pathway.
Medical records are fragmented across institutions with no continuity of care. Patients seeking second opinions face logistical and financial barriers with no structured pathway to obtain them reliably.
Falsified blood tests and X-rays drive up premiums and reduce coverage availability across Sri Lanka's growing private insurance market. No chain-of-custody verification exists today.
Private hospitals and diagnostic centers face unnecessary friction reaching and coordinating patients. NirogiAI creates a referral network delivering pre-qualified, payment-confirmed patients at zero upfront cost to partners.
Overseas families bridging the distance for loved ones' care
Fragmented records — the challenge NirogiAI solves
Market Opportunity
Sri Lankan families in the US, UK, and Australia coordinating care for relatives in Sri Lanka. Year 1 addressable user base at a conservative 10% adoption from the US diaspora alone.
Complex oncology, cardiac, and surgical patients at Sri Lanka's private hospitals seeking structured, AI-assisted second opinions — including from leading institutions worldwide such as Mayo Clinic.
NirogiAI's chain-of-custody verification for insurance medical examinations opens a high-integrity pipeline for health insurers — reducing fraud, lowering premiums, and enabling confident policy issuance.
The Patient Journey
NirogiAI orchestrates the entire care journey — removing friction at every step for patients, families, and healthcare providers alike.
The platform functions as a digital healthcare orchestration system — similar in architecture to how Uber connects supply and demand, applied to healthcare delivery in Sri Lanka.
Request a platform walkthrough →A financial sponsor — typically an overseas family member — creates an MFA-protected account. Medical history, lab results, and imaging including MRI, CT, and X-ray DICOM data are uploaded. Photocopy and scanning partners assist patients without digital records.
The NirogiAI clinical AI agent analyses all submitted records — performing imaging segmentation, staging, and evidence-based treatment option generation. Additional diagnostics required are identified, with providers ranked by cost and quality for sponsor selection.
NirogiAI generates a paid requisition slip, handles payment by card or bank transfer, and dispatches it to the patient by email. The test center securely uploads results directly to the patient's portal via a dedicated provider access login.
Once results are received, the AI matches the patient to appropriate specialist physicians from its curated directory — ranked by cost, quality rating, and availability. The sponsor selects and pays for the appointment through the platform.
Appointments are scheduled from live specialist calendars. Teleconsultation supports overseas families. The AI generates a pre-visit clinical summary. The platform maintains a longitudinal care record tracking all follow-up tests, appointments, and optional insurance enrollment.
Technology Foundation
A modular, API-first, cloud-native platform combining medical imaging AI, LLM orchestration, FHIR-compliant data infrastructure, and blockchain chain-of-custody verification.
An AI agent retrieves imaging analysis, queries clinical records and evidence-based guidelines, and generates structured staging, risk classification, and treatment recommendations with a human-readable summary report.
Custom CNN / Transformer / nnU-Net models for tumor segmentation, metastasis detection, and organ delineation. Integrated with Microsoft Azure Medical Imaging AI and GPT-4 vision capabilities.
HIPAA-aligned SQL and graph database supporting DICOM imaging files, structured lab data, PDF reports, and longitudinal patient records with full lifecycle treatment tracking.
NIC-verified patient identification with an immutable blockchain record from sample collection through physician validation — enabling insurers to issue policies with high-integrity exam data.
Deployed on Azure with Terraform-provisioned infrastructure and event-driven serverless microservices via Apache Kafka. USD 50,000 Azure Cloud grant expected in Year 1. ISO 27001-aligned security posture.
Curated clinical guidelines library integrated with OpenEvidence and leading oncology standards. Continuously updated. Second-opinion pathways to Mayo Clinic and other leading institutions worldwide.
Our Founders
NirogiAI is co-founded by two complementary experts — deep medical expertise combined with advanced technology leadership, united by a shared mission to transform healthcare access in Sri Lanka.
Prabhat is a Co-founder and first CEO of Lanka Internet, which first brought the Internet to Sri Lanka in 1995, and ushered in a positive lifestyle change for most Sri Lankans. In 1998, together with Mr. B. A. C. Abeywardhana, Prabhat co-founded Lanka Discount Telecom Ltd, which operated the first independent commercial Internet Protocol based long-distance telephone service between the USA and South East Asia via a private Intelsat Earth Station. This service broke Sri Lanka Telecom's then IDD telephone monopoly, and reduced the telephone call charges from the USA to Sri Lanka from the then USD 2.50/minute to USD 0.25/minute before WhatsApp etc., became popular. Prabhat was a former Research Staff Member at IBM, and an early Linux developer who was a part of the team that created the company Redhat. He helped develop a novel application of well known technology in a "wrap around linear induction motor (with a hollow center)" for the Aktivo Scooter in 2020. His PhD thesis at University of California, Berkeley, in 1989 dealt with load balancing algorithms for read-only data storage devices, well before search engines mastered high throughput search technologies. He has a 1st class degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from University of Moratuwa. Recently he has developed an interest in AI and continues to be amazed by the power of technologies such as Claude Code. Prabhat drives NirogiAI's technology build-out.
Clinical co-founder and Chairman bringing deep medical domain expertise to NirogiAI's care pathway design, physician network development, and clinical AI validation. Dr. Lecamwasam ensures every element of the platform meets the highest standards of clinical integrity, evidence-based medicine, and patient safety.
